About the role
- Most companies talk about AI. We ship it. SalesMind AI builds predictable pipeline infrastructure for B2B companies, and our automation layer is the engine that makes it all work — connecting AI models to CRMs, triggering workflows via webhooks, and turning raw LLM outputs into clean, actionable data.
- As AI Prompt Engineer, you will own the full automation stack: designing n8n workflows, engineering prompts that actually perform, writing JavaScript glue code, and managing data flows through MongoDB. You are the person who makes the AI work in production — not in a notebook.
- This is a startup. You will wear multiple hats. One day you are tweaking an API connection, the next you are brainstorming a new product feature. If that excites you, keep reading. If it scares you, this is not the right role.
What you'll do
- Build the pipelines — design and deploy automated workflows using n8n that connect our AI models to CRMs via webhooks and APIs.
- Prompt engineering — design, build, and iterate high-performing prompts for models like ChatGPT, GROK, and Gemini. You will test these prompts rigorously to eliminate hallucinations.
- Vibe coding — use AI tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to rapidly prototype and write JavaScript glue code to make your workflows run smoothly.
- Data handling — manage inputs and outputs using MongoDB, ensuring our data flow is clean and scalable.
- Optimise and iterate — analyse model outputs and user feedback to tweak algorithms. If the AI sounds robotic, you fix it.
- CRM integration — connect AI-powered workflows to CRM platforms, ensuring seamless data synchronisation and event-driven automation.
- Startup hustle — wear multiple hats. One day you might be debugging a webhook, the next you might be designing a new automation feature from scratch.
What we're looking for
- n8n (Workflow Automation) — you must be able to design complex workflows. This is non-negotiable.
- JavaScript — required for writing custom logic and function nodes within n8n. You do not need to be a frontend developer, but you need to write real code.
- MongoDB — you know how to store and retrieve data efficiently. Schema design, queries, aggregations.
- APIs and Webhooks — you understand how to connect different services and trigger events. REST, JSON, authentication flows.
- CRM integrations — experience (or deep theoretical understanding) of connecting AI tools to CRM platforms like GoHighLevel, HubSpot, or Salesforce.
- Hungry and motivated — you are a junior or a fresh graduate who wants to prove themselves. You learn fast and take ownership.
- Technical and creative — you have the logic to write JavaScript and manage databases, but the creativity to write human-sounding AI prompts.
- Problem solver — you know how to read documentation and figure out why a webhook is not firing without needing your hand held.
- Collaborative — you can communicate complex technical issues to the product team clearly and concisely.
Nice to have
- Experience with prompt engineering for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or GROK in a production context — not just ChatGPT conversations.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for rapid prototyping and development.
- Experience with GoHighLevel, HubSpot, or similar CRM platforms.
- Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or AI orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with Make, Zapier, or other workflow automation tools (we use n8n, but the thinking transfers).
- Familiarity with the B2B SaaS landscape — you understand pipeline metrics, lead scoring, and sales automation.
- Basic understanding of Python for scripting or data processing tasks.
- Previous startup experience or personal projects that show initiative and self-direction.

Interview process
- Intro call (30 min) — your background, what excites you about AI automation, and how you think about building workflows. No trick questions.
- Technical exercise (async) — build a small n8n workflow with a prompt engineering component. We want to see how you think, not how fast you Google.
- Live walkthrough (45 min) — show us something you have built — a workflow, a script, a project. Walk us through why you made the decisions you made.
- Final conversation with the founder — alignment on vision, pace, and what your first 90 days look like.
Proof of work
- Show us workflows or automations you have built — n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom. Screen recordings, architecture diagrams, or live demos all work.
- Share examples of prompts you have engineered and the results they produced. We care about iteration and testing, not just the final output.
- Personal projects, GitHub repos, or anything that shows you build things on your own initiative. Bonus if it involves AI or automation.
